Nat Geo - Brain Games Season 5

Brain Games

ART DIRECTION / ANIMATION / ILLUSTRATION

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

When National Geographic’s informational series Brain Games hit its groove, Animal approached me to come on board  to art direct and give the show, both Season 4 and 5, a look of its own. We then gave the three-pound complex organ a make-over and a modern edge.

The rebranding involved applying our distinctive look and design across all graphic elements such as lower thirds, transitions, brain diagrams, and any scientific facts of the day we were covering for the episode at hand.

While keeping design in mind, we also faced several challenges that turned us into game designers and illusionists! Not only our work had to be engaging but they also had to be scientifically and mathematically correct. We had lots of fun testing out our renders around the studio.

My favorite part about the two years spent on Brain Games was seeing how a group of young children both were entertained and interacted with the games. I think witnessing just that was a major success for me and the team.

You  can now catch some seasons Netflix!
